How To Think Yourself Rich and "Make Money Online"

If you are looking at starting up your own business or making money online and haven't started the journey, or if you started that journey and are still feeling dissatisfied, ask yourself these questions:

What do I get passionate about? Am I working in an area that I'm passionate about? If not, what steps can I take to ensure I start to move towards my passion?

So, how do you go about finding you passion? For us, it was a two step process of working out our vision and values for our business. We always new that we wanted to work for ourselves, that we wanted to be financially secure, we wanted to have more time for our kids and we wanted to help other people achieve these goals as well. It may take you awhile before you have a clear picture of the vision and values you want for your business.

Needs have an influence over our actions, therefore, they can play an integral role in finding your passion for business. For example, a teenager may have the need to feel that they are accepted by a group; others of us are motivated by money or success. Often when one of our needs is met, more needs surface. Once these needs are fulfilled, again new and higher needs emerge, and so on.

First, we all have the basic needs of food, water, sleep and air. When these are not met we may feel ill, pain or irrational. Other needs include safety, which is about creating stability and the security of a home and family. We also need to feel loved by others, accepted by others, and we need recognition from others. However, the greatest value comes from within, knowing that you are good enough, clever enough and loveable enough.

Once all of the above mentioned needs are met, this is when most of us ask: 'Am I really happy? What is important to me? What would make me happy? What is my higher purpose or passion?' To help you answer these questions you first must find your vision. When we were first thinking about our vision all we wanted was to make more money. However, our vision grew and evolved as we have evolved. When you are formulating your vision be grand about it. Don't think small, think BIG.

Secondly, ask yourself: 'What are my values?' Defining your values is about setting up a framework from which you will operate. Starting a business starts with you. Do you want to run an empire? What do you want your life to be? Do you want to set up a business that allows you to work fifteen hours a week? Do you want to have flexibility? You must make decisions about how you want your life to be before deciding how you want your business to be-as your business will have a large impact on your life.

Once you have defined your visions and values, you need to adhere to them in your business and private lives. You need to work 'inside out', starting with your characters and motives; this is an ongoing process. Most of us tend to work from 'the outside in', for example in a relationship, you might feel unhappy or unfulfilled and our first instinct is to try and change the other person. Ultimately the 'outside in' approach never lasts. It could be that you repeatedly experience running out of money from pay to pay, or we get into situations where we feel taken for granted. Rather than blame the outside world, try to see your patterns in those events and change them.

Although, you may have fears and doubts about starting your own business or perhaps changing your direction; as long as you are true to yourself and your vision, values and passions are all headed in the same direction- you will be on the path to contentment and success.
